Meet Tilly

The Basics

Hi! My name is Tilly and I’m so far into my late 20′s that we’ll just go ahead and say I’m almost 30. I’m almost 30. I’m almost 30. (Maybe if I say it enough times it will stop scaring the heck out of me.) Last year I finally left the comfort of my college town and moved to the largest gated retirement community in the world. It took some time to adjust but I find that if I at least have access to the internet and yarn I’m a pretty happy camper. I spend the majority of my time working at a local craft store and the rest is divided between my boyfriend, my pup pup, and my many hobbies.

One Girl? One Hook?

I learned how to crochet 18 years ago from a neighbor’s grandmother. What began as a leisurely way to pass the time rapidly became an obsession. I love creating things that are both beautiful and practical and I’m ecstatic that modern technology allows me to share them with the world. I created this blog in the hope that it will become a resource for crocheters of all skill levels. There will be a variety of posts including beginner tips, basic crochet terminology, book reviews, video tutorials, and hopefully interviews with fellow crochet bloggers, designers, and shop owners.

Thank you for visiting my site and I hope you’ll stay tuned!

  1. My grandmother taught me how to crochet when I was very young. She was an immigrant and did not read English nor directions so she would look at something and duplicate it. That’s how she taught me. Over the years I learned to read directions and it opened up a whole new world of possibilities! It’s awesome to be able to make things for charities or just brighten someone’s day with an unexpected gift. I’m currently trying to teach my young granddaughter to crochet!! Hope she carries it on.
